    I cant back up the movie Man of the House. I am using recode 2 and it will get to 5% and give me the message "failed to read from the file VTS_01_1.VOB" Whats the problem?

    Try cleaning the disc for starters and use various ripping tools, including dvd decrypter, dvdfab decrypter, anydvd etc...

    I had no problem using DvdFab Decrypter and then Shrink to burn it.

    DvdDecrypter followed by Dvd Shrink worked for me.

    5% is the normal place this movie will stop working. Use the above methods to get around it. I use dvdshrink along with anydvd. It seems to work every time. I also have a generic dvd rom I bought at frys a few years ago that will read any dvd that my burner cannot. Don't know why it can read encrypted disc but it does.
