  1. Hello

I already had the Kazaa Lite Codec Pack, and uninstalled it so i could download and install the newest version (the mega one). After this i tried to play a .mpg video file using media player classic, and there was a problem. The audio was perfect, but the video was distorted and "moving slowly" for example freezing/stuttering at certain parts.

I tried to play another file this time an .avi and the same problem occured though there was some improvement. When this happened, i thought there must be a problem with media player classic so i used BS Player and the same problem occured again!

Could anyone help me out please

    Thank You

Install codecs on a need only basis. Codec packs will give you nothing but headaches.

unistall the codec pack, install only the ones you need as you need them. If you need to indetify what codec you need to play a particular file you can use G-Spot to indentify it.

windowns media player 7: video worked no sound

Try Codec Sniper, careful though. you don't want to remove what you don't need. It's good at identifying what codecs are installed on your system and will indentify ones with problems.

  10. ok just an update, i have used the sherlock codec utility and it found some invalid references. Should i delete these references?? I am not sure if or where they are on my PC and the codec utility does not provide an option for deleting. So can you tell me what files i should delete??

take a look at the following link to see what the results were:

This is what I would do, may or may not work I make no guarantees..... Uninstall PowerDVD and run that utility again. If they are still showing up as broken, kill them using the utility. Reinstall PowerDVD.
