Would appreciate some advice on which would be the best video compression format (avi, mov, mpeg, divx, xvid, etc.) in terms of video/audio quality to memory size ratio. I intend to rip DVD movies to one of these formats so I can store them in a 1GB SD card for viewing on my Pocket PC. That means I want the best video/sound quality for about a 2 hour movie for under 1GB.
Having said that, what would be the best program to rip DVDs to your recommended format?

I've been using 'Pocket DVD Studio' for my Pocket PC because it does fast conversion. With a 1 GB card you can get more than one video on it and not notice any real quality lose. The screen resolution on those devices is pretty low, so 'high quality' is easy to obtain, even with small file sizes.
I use 'Beta Player' for viewing. Any player program that can rotate the video 90 degrees is good for getting the most out of the small screen size. I use WMV for the video format, but Xvid and Divx work well also for small file size and good quality.
There are some pocket PC programs in the 'Tools' section to the left and if you do a 'Google' search for 'Pocket PC Video' you will see quite a few different programs and players, both freeware and pay.
