  1. I am trying to use DVDAuthorGui for the first time and when I try to add titles I am having trouble. My movies are mpegs which were encoded using TMPGenc Plus. When I add files my movies don't show up when selecting "file type" - mpeg elementary stream (.m2v,.mv1, .mpv). They do show up when selecting file types - mpeg with NAV pockets (.vob,.mpg,..mpeg). I then get an error stating "NAV packets are not detected in movie. Please demultiplex" What is going on???
    Thanks

  2. NAV packets are not detected in movie. Please demultiplex
    Just do it

Load TMPGenc Plus. Select File - MPEG Tools... from the menu and start "Simple De-multiplex"

The resulting elementary streams will (probably) work.

I agree with everything borax said, but I want to add that since you are using tmpgenc plus, the next time you encode something, just set tmpgenc to encode to elementry streams, instead of a system stream. I believe that option is on the right hand side of tmpgenc, on the main screen.

  4. thanks borax and liuid217. It worked great. Now my only problem is that the button I create is not lining up with the menu words. I created a menus jpeg in ms-paint, converted it in DVDauthorgui. Everything went smoothly until I burned it and the button was above the word command. I am sure this is an easy fix. Any help??

that might be an issue with your directshow mpeg2 filter trying to auto-adjust for the aspect ratio. Try installing another one, such as dscaler 5's mpeg filter.

I'm having the same (minor) problem in DVDAuthorGUI with my menu button being a bit off from my menu text.

I took the new Battlestar Galactica episode I captured last week, edited and demultiplexed, converted the audio to .ac3, downloaded the podcast from scifi.com, converted it to .ac3 and added it as a second audio track, downloaded a desktop wallpaper to use as a menu background, opened it up in MS Paint, typed in the episode titles for that episode and the one for tonight, and created a button for the episode I have.

Upon playing the test DVD-RW, the button is off a bit from the text it's supposed to be highlighting.

Since we're both using MS Paint and both having the same problem, I wonder if MS Paint *is* the problem?

Meanwhile, I'm making my own DVD complete with a commentary track. I feel like a pro! Woo hoo!

  7. Since you're already using Paint, while you're in there, get the coordinates, x, width, y, height. Write them down for all of the proposed buttons. Then in DVDAuthorGUI, when creating the buttons check the Advanced box, and type in the numbers you wrote down.

Also, before burning, test it out in a software player, so you don't waste a DVDR. If the buttons are off, it's only another 20 minutes or so to adjust them and author again.
