Can someone tell me how I can crop video?
I've asked before and was told I could use Virtualdubmod.
Unfortunately, I have raw DV footage.
Virtualdubmod doesn't seem to be able to read the file.

I can load the file in other video editing programs, so I assume it can't be a case of not having the correct video codecs?

I don't want to compress the video to another format as the video is of poor quality in the first place... compressing to another format degrades my picture quality.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Some "flavours" of virtualdub have had trouble in the past with opening up Type 1 DV-AVI, but I believe the latest versions (1.6.8 ???) can allegedly open type 1 without any hassles. Maybe try updating your virtualdubmod ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

Unfortunately, virtualdubmod doesn't seem to be updated anymore, although the original is. Have you tried installing the Panasonic DV codec ? I have no trouble working with DV footage in VDM using it.

The Panasonic DV codec will allow you to open and work with DV avi files in virtualdubmod. It's free, small, and will respect you in the morning. What more do you want ?
