  1. I was starting to high speed dub and it turned off, after it came back up it would display U99 and now it won't work!

I have tried to reset it, i did the hold stop button and ch. up button, nothing will make it work!!

How do i get it to get past this u99 error?

also, I need to get the firmware upgrade but I need to know if it will wipe out all my programs on the hard drive after the upgrade?

And how will I be able to upgrade if it won't even come back on?

    Please help me!

    Thank you

  3. I left it unplugged all night as well as 30 minutes, 15 mins, ect.

It starts to load up but right before it gets to where it shows how many hours it has on the harddrive it says U99.

I had been burning discs on high speed and I went to dub a 2nd disc of the same programs to make 2 copies and the list was still set up so I didn't have to go and manually get the 12 programs set up again, all I did was use the list that was still there from the first disc.

I am really frusterated, I have stuff to record this weekend and have no idea how to fix this problem.

  5. I just noticed that the dvd recorder is very hot on the top, there is a small tv sitting on it, and it has never caused any problems with heat before, the tv is not hot, but the dvd burner is very hot, i was trying to look at the back of the burner and put my hand on top to turn it and it caught my attention that it was extremely hot.

could that have something to do with my u99 problem? The recorder is not my a window so it can't be from sunlight and the air conditioning is on in the house so the house it not hot, the heat is not coming from the small tv on top of it either.

maybe that is more info that someone can help me! we are having a heat index of 115 degree weather right now so that just started about 2 days ago, in case that helps!

would putting a fan on the recorder help to cool it down or is there something wrong with it internally?

    Thanks for any help.
