I don't remember anyone talking about this, so if it's answered elsewhere, just point the way.
Is it possible to use DVD-R blanks for video CD's? If so, this would allow lots of content and I already have a ton of VCD mpegs.

Yes, you can try to burn them directly, or convert the audio to 48KHz to be DVD compliant.

Well, you can't really make a "VCD" on DVD media as VCD was designed for CD based media.
However, as skittelsen implied, you can make a DVD with VCD standard MPEGs. You will have to re-encode the audio though after resampling it to 48 kHz.
