  1. Okay these are the two tutorials I have been TRYING to follow.

    Mac The Ripper: http://www.ripdifferent.com/~mtr/
    Popcorn: http://mrbass.org/mac/dvd/popcorn/

So I have tried full disc extraction with MTR, and every time I drag the video_ts folder it closes. So I tried full disc extraction and did DVDBackUP; it still would close when I drag the video_ts folder.

I thought it was ARccOS, so i tried full disc extraction ARccOS, dragged it to Popcorn and it didn't work. Did DVDBackUP with ArccOS, again same result.

Is the only answer to get DVD2OneX? If so, it can only be downloaded, not purchased anywhere?

    I guess no one knows??

Ok, so you ripped the DVD with MTR, and how big is it
    ( the VIDEO_TS folder)?

You drag and drop the video TS folder into Popcorn and Popcorn locks up? Unexpectedly quits? Gives a warning?

We need a bit more info here....

If the disc was ArrCCos and your are using the latest build of
MTR ( 2.66) then, it would tell you to use ArrCCos, because
    it is ArrCCos aware.

For the record, yes you can only buy DVD2ONEX online
with a credit card. Its makers are in Europe,
andchose this model over trying to mass produce and
sell it stores for OBVIOUS reasons.

  3. usually the video_ts folder is around 7gbs and i was gonna use Popcorn to shrink it (drag video_ts folder) with arccos or with no arccoss ripping, it still closes unexpectically.....just says "needs to close" and gives option to reopen program.

also, since you say the latest MTR will say arccoss, none of the dvd's i have ripped say i need to use arccos. so i thought i would need to use dvd back up, but supposedly, MTR takes off CSS? Either way all four ways didn't work like i said:

    -arccos/dvdback
    -arccos
    -no arccos/dvdback
    -no arccos
*all cases, i drag video_ts folder, and Popcorn just closes

MOS is “mean opinion score,” a measurement of quality. Since that doesn’t apply here, I suppose the referred MOS in this case stands for “Mac OS”.

    correct.
10.4.2 fixes some major things in Tiger,
and since Toast/popcorn is still QT based,
I would ( have to assume) QT 7.01 helps
    the equation....

    frankleone,

I had _exactly_ the same problem as you, when using a copy of Popcorn with OS X 10.4.x. I updated the version of Popcorn I was using from 1.0.1 (which was the version supplied to me on DVD) to 1.0.3, which I downloaded from the Roxio website via the following link:

    http://www.roxio.com/en/support/popcorn/software_updates.jhtml

    ...and it now (finally) works.

    hth,
    Justin.
