  1. I recently aqquired a video file I had been looking for for sometime and to my delight I found the file to be of very high quality (rare on any P2P)
The file has an embedded duration/frame#/time left counter that is displayed in bold white letters and numbers approximately 1/3 distance down from the top of the current video frame and this counter is displayed from start to finish of the video. it is quite annoying and ruins the entire video despite the video's high quality. I can find no way of removing this counter display except to crop it out. When I do, a full third of the video is cropped out also and this is unacceptable. The upper third of every frame is cut as well as the counter. I use Virtualdub 6.9 and it is apparently unable to remove the offending display.
Can anyone tell me a way to delete this counter without losing the upper 1/3 of the video?I have been teaching myself video editing for the past 2 yrs and this is the first time I have encountered a file with this cursed counter display so large and positioned in such a way that cropping it out renders the video unwatchable.
Thanks for any reply and PLEASE help me out here!!

Virtualdub Logoaway filter will do that, but it won't look that great. They usually put those there during editing 'not for release' video. Or you can put a black bar over it.

Those are internal "window dubs" intended for offline editing.
