  1. this is a new one on me. i am at a loss to figure this out.

for 2 years i have been using vegas 4 to convert the audio in .dv files (and .avi files that are DV files) into .ac3 files. this has always worked flawlessly for over 1500 files.

however the last 2 files i converted are roughly 1 second out of sync. the audio is about 1 second ahead of the video. the first second is cut off from the audio.

i spent a few hours today trying to figure this out. i am almost positive the problem lies in vegas. basic troubleshooting indicates that files created 2 weeks ago and before will mux correctly in tmpgenc and be in sync. files created within the last 9 days are 1 second out of sync when muxed in tmpgenc. (i only mux to check the compressed files before i toss the .avi)

i have no idea how to deal with this.

somehow i did get one file to mux in sync after several tries re-rendering the audio in vegas. i was unable to repeat this. repeated attempts were out of sync.

i havent changed any preferences in vegas since i installed it 2 years ago.

the only change i have made to the pc is adding ffdshow, roughly a week ago. i do not know if this is causing the problem or not but due to the time the problem showed up it seems possible. i will uninstall it and re-render the out of sync audio.

the preference in vegas "ignore external dv codecs" is checked.

any advice for this mac guy?

edit: i must add that the original dv files are in sync when played.

the audio and video are in sync when played in vegas.

gspot says the dv files is: video 29.970. audio 48k 16bit

  2. uninstalling ffdshow resulted in ac3 files that were in sync rendered in vegas. apparently there is a conflict.

am i the only person to experience this?
