You guys were all so helpful yesterday that I feel brave enough to ask this question now. I've searched for the answer but can't seem to find quite what I'm looking for on the forum.

I have a couple of items that I recorded on the PC tv tuner which I'd like to share on a couple of different websites. Problem is, they're each around 80 mbs in mpeg format.

Earlier this year a Dutch tv journalist told me about some new technology that enables websites to host large, high-quality video files, but temporarily shrink them to enable quick email transmission or web download. Does anyone know what this is about - eg what it's called?

Alternatively, what's a good way to reduce a video clip to a reasonable size for uploading to a web site?

    Thanks in advance,
    Jo

    Hi,

    Some alternates:

    Try divx/xvid.

Or use windows movie maker to make wmv (windows media video) files. (there are other converters found in the tools section)

Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

Windows Media Encoder which produces WMV files that are the most universally playable.
