I've succesfully converted DVCodec to DivX with Virtualdub 1.6.2 plenty of times in the past, but I've been having problems with one movie recently. It's in DVCodec, the resolution is 333x144 [which i've never even seen before]. I tried converting it to DivX with Virtualdub 1.6.2., but the file size comes out tiny [ie 280-300 MB's], and the resolution is absolutely horrible.

Is it because the resolution is so small? Or should I use a different program? Any help is appreciated.

I normall wouldn't care, but I've been looking for this movie for months, and it's literally the only copy I've found.

That is much lower than true DV to begin with, and too low to allow you to get great quality. That said, size, and to a large degree quality, is determined by bitrate. Is your too low ?

    resolution: 336 x 144 - 23.976 fps
    data rate: 536 kbps

That seems incredibly low. Guess there's nothing I can do, huh?

Does anyone have a good copy of Sergio Leone's "For A Few Dollars More"? starring Clint Eastwood they feel like sending my way. :P
