  1. I just authored a dvd for the first time using tmpengc dvd author but it doesn't support adding like music to the main menu. Is there any quick method i could do this without reauthoring any of the files created.

Any advise would be much appreciated.

    thanks

You're gonna have to reauthor in some way, shape or form.

To add audio to menus in TMPGEnc DVD Author, you need to create a "motion menu" - if you just want a still background image with audio, you need to mux your still image with the audio to make a DVD-compliant MPEG file - any decent encoder (like TMPGEnc Plus) should be able to do this for you.
    If in doubt, Google it.

    tonemgub,
I created an app that can let you do that very easily without re-authoring. I haven't made it public because I didn't think many people would be interested, but if you want to give it a shot, I'll send it to you. You will need to install muxman and besweet (which are both free), but other than that, the application is extremely easy to use (pick the menu, drag/drop the audio file on it)...
I created this application because I found that TMPGenc DVD author didn't encode the audio as mpeg1 or ac3, but left it as LPCM, and the resulting menus were exceedingly large.
