  1. I've been using TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6 to create my VOB set from umpteen MPG files (created with TMPGEnc Plus 2.5), and then using IFOEdit to edit the PGC Command Table so that chapters link up properly with a menu created separately.

This has worked fine for quite some time.

Recently, I created 3 different VOB sets. The first and third had no problems whatsoever. The middle set, however, keeps giving an error similar to "The file size does not match the offset in XXXXX" whenever I attempt to save the edited IFO.
I first assumed the VOB set was somehow damaged, but rebuilding it had no effect. Then I thought perhaps the problem was from a glitch in the source files that was screwing up the VOBs, so I re-encoded all of them from scratch, with no effect.
This error only occurs when I actually edit the file and save it. If I simply open the original IFO and save it, no error occurs. Attempting to ignore the error results in a useless VOB set.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions as to how I should go about solving this problem?

  2. Although I still do not know what the real problem was, I tried reverting back to an older version of DVD Author (1.5.13), recompiled the set, and everything worked just fine.

Hopefully this minor tidbit of information will help anyone else who encounters the problem.
