Used the above to rip a movie (nothing copyrighted), and I got the whole movie no problem, but it left out the menu - just started with the movie. Any ideas why?

Also, the resulting divx file plays in a players supporting Divx except for the actua Divx play - in which case I get an error.

AutoGK only does a particular title from the DVD - not the whole DVD itself, or any menus or anything like that. In fact, AFAIK the only way to put a menu inside DivX is to use the DivX converter and use DivX 6 - a forum search or a look through the Latest News forum for DivX 6 will certainly find more info on this.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Hmm, I have the DivX converter, but you can't use that with a DVD, can you?

One more question while you're here Can I have @ ver. of the divX codec on the same machine - 6 and 4.1.2 for example?

And, any idea why my divx player won't play the file but other players that support divx will?

    Thanks!!

    EDIT:
FOund a topic here that might help. There was also a couple of topics on this the other night - you might need to look through the Newbie/General or DVD to (S)VCD/AVI forums over the last few days to find them.

Sure ... provided that the newer version doesn't try to uninstall the later version when you install it, and also you may have some fun configuring the codecs to play the right material - ie. you may want to use DivX4 to decode Divx 3/4 material, but DivX6 to decode DivX5/6 material.

Don't know. But according to DivX.com, "The DivX Player™ is capable of playing every DivX file ever created, with integrated support for advanced DivX® Media Format features and special enhancements for high definition (HD) playback, providing the ideal way to enjoy all your DivX videos."
    If in doubt, Google it.

The Divx site says if you have a dvd to .avi pluin, you can use it to convert DVDs or video ts files. I'm pretty sure I have this plugin as it's supposed to come with what I have, but I get an error saying it doesn't support the file type. Hmm.
