I'm afraid I didn't see that any of the times I watched it! All I saw was the 100 years ago date on the gravestone of the person being buried...if they were trying to create an illusion why would they put the "real" date on a peice of wood for the people in the village to see?Originally Posted by ricardouk

Well the childeren that grew up there wouldn't need to know a fake year, they'd just assume life in that year is the life they are leading.

certainly the children would not know the difference..but the fact that there would be say "1899" on the tombstone of the person that just died and "1999" written on a peice of wood beside it is what doesn't make sense to me if they were trying to create the illusion one way or the other. I'm sure they at least taught their children numbers so they could count how many logs they sawed that day
