I have a ADS Pyro Pro 1394 card with MSP 6.0, a Dell 4100 series 800 PIII 45GB hardrive.
I want to set up a seperate drive for video storage as most everyone recommends. The problem is everybody has a different suggestion. The most economical and easiest I have heard is to get a 1394 drive kit(like those found on videoguys.com and dv-gear.com) and get an internal IBM Deskstar 60GXP hardive to put in it and use it as plug and play storage. Can ANYONE tell me if this will work ok for video storage for some editing I am looking at doing. I will be making some 1-1 and 1/2Hr. videos. No one seems to have done it or know if it will work or not.
PLEASE if anyone can give me some insight it would be appreciated.

A cheaper option may be to partition your existing hard-drive, to allow for a second drive for video editing, encoding storage. That what I did
