I recently captured from VHS to disc using a dvd recorder. The audio is 48kHz, 256k AC-3. In virtualdub, it's SILENT. In WinDVD Player, it sounds fine. In DVD Shrink it plays fine. In various authoring packages it plays fine. Any ideas?

Oh, wait. It still won't work with VirtualDubMPEG2. You'll need VirtualDubMod and AVISynth. Then open in VirtualDubMod as a DirectShow source.

You could try the AC3 Decompressor from fcchandler here. You should then be able to play the AC3 audio.

  6. I tried the AC3ACM that Lantern pointed out. It works with VirtualDUBMPEG2 but performance is pretty bad on some files. Just fine on others.
