Anyone tried this? Not just playing them together, but actually ripping them both, demuxing the audio from the movie, and syncing them both together? Can this be done with:

    DVD Backup/MTR/OSeX
    Handbrake
    ffmpegX
iTunes (or some other CD ripper)

  2. Are they the same length (same time)? If not, then you would have to manually sync the audio to the video in some other application (FCP). Is it meant to work (be cool) to sync from the very beginning of the movie, or only when Dorothy and Toto reach Oz?

Have you considered syncing the soundtrack from DVD release of Oz to the Wizard of Oz. Could be interesting.

Gah...its been so long. Ummm. I think like right after the second roar. But if not, right at the second roar. I did it the old fashioned way with a VHS copy and a Vinyl. So it was a bit easier getting it to start at the lions roar.

I'm pretty sure it was the third. Anyway, you could probably manually create a soundtrack by joining multiple copies of DSOTM together, but is there an easier way to automatically loop it?

It is the third, I've done it. Not sure what to use on a MAC though. As for looping it, I would stitch multiple copies of DSOTM together since your CD drive/app might have a delay in restarting the from track 11 to track 1. I probably will get carded for mentioning this, but I've seen copies on EBay of them synced up on DVD for sale, and I'm sure it's available from some file-sharing networks.

  8. With the proper herbal extracts, I think one could make anything seemed synced.

But just to continue the technical side of the discussion: are we talking about the original Dark Side of the Moon, or the digital re-mix, or even possibly the Live version (although I'm not sure there is one; but I think they performed it live on TV somewhere).

  9. there is a shareware program called "Dark Side Of Oz" that helps sync the two together and also displays some movie trivia factoids.

After the Lion roars for the THIRD time

I did this. I just replaced the Spanish audio track on my DVD with it. Now its kind of like an easter egg.

The main sync points just come during the first play of the album but if you loop it there are a few more points that supposedly have some significance. It was a long time ago when I did it but I just read online how many seconds you are supposed to wait before starting the audio track, and I added a delay to my audio stream.

Truthfully, the only really cool part comes in like the first 3 mins when the lady shows up on her bicycle.
