I am having a Major issue with Video playbacks. I downloaded and installed S2D Ver 2 on Monday and did an encoding on Tuesday. After the encoding, I tried to play the new DVD that S2D created in power DVD 6 the color of the playback is coming up distorted (it looks like it’s in 8bit color).
At first I thought it was the player so I reinstalled power DVD 6 but it is still having the same issue. So I check the original Mpeg and it was playing the same way as the DVD. Thinking it might still be a power DVD 6 issue I tried all the players I had (Media Player 10, Dixv play Snap stream Beyond TV player, and the SVCD2DVD player in the program) they are all playing the same way the color of the playback is coming up distorted(it looks like it’s in 8bit color). Thinking it was an mpeg issue I also tried to play a WMV and DIXV files and they are all playing the same way. If I take a snapshot in power DVD the image comes up fine, even though the color in the playback is coming up distorted.
I have reinstalled just about everything I can think of (video drivers, all Codec (Mpeg1 and 2, all Divx, and WM), all the players and SVCD2DVD ver 2. I have reinstalled just about everything but the OS but it has not correcting the issue.
Now this is the strange part if I load SVCD2DVD ver 2 and minimize it, all videos files (mpeg, Divx, and WMV) will play fine. No color issues at all.
I have searched high and low on the forum but can not locate anything about this. Does SVCD2DVD ver 2 have its own codec’s that it uses and loads? Has anyone else run into this issue? Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

So what happens with SVCD2DVD not running? Do you get 8bit in your players? Or is it only when S2D is running (but not minimised)?

So I'm assuming that if you uninstalled S2D then you would still have 8bit....
Have you got Netmeeting/Terminal Services running? This can effect video depth. Have you tried manipulating the hardware accelleration of your video card? Finally what does MPC behave like?SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.

Cancel the Hardware accelleration part. when i Tweek it to the middle with DirectDraw and Direct3D Disable the video plays fine.

Ok I have been tweaking my system trying to get eh video to run properly with Full hardware acceleration but I have not been successful Every time I set it to full the video goes back to 8bit. I have tired to reinstall directX 9C but can not figure out how. Every time I re run the setup it just zips through and does not look like it is installs anything. Does any one have any idea on how to accomplish this or correct the video problem with the full acceleration? It is great that the videos are playing but I cant play any games or vide editing with the system like this.
