  3. Try using another burning app. My ps2 works only when I burn the movie with Nero.

  4. my ps2 works fine with ritek media...I have a sony dru burner and I ALLWAYS burn at 1x, especially for ps2 backups. If you havn't tried yet, try burning at 1x for the ps2 backups.

    1x makes no difference.
This is simply an issue of using better media.

Try some AZO-based media, like MCC (Verbatim)

  6. Smurf,
I did a lot of reading on the whole speed thing...but basically, I have burned things at 4x that didn't work, and then burned that at 1x (directly after) and they worked fine (ps2 games). coincedence? maybe. I can't explain it and I'm sure their are technical reasons why burning at faster speeds is no worse, but i'm just sharing my personal experience.

I have good luck with ritek -R GO4's. I use my dvd cloner at max speed and never have any problems. It copies the original directly. I just found out I need a replacement laser lens. Debating on replacing lens, or replacing the entire ps2.

  8. I modded a PS2 forum for years.

It depends on what chip you have in your PS2 & what version PS2 you have.

Try TY media, write at 2x for starters. If that works you can write faster. Lots of people say Riteks are great in PS2s but they weren't for me. Maxell is also working great for me.
