  1. I downloaded a part of the live8 show (no copyright), and
    it was ripped by DVB-S.
I tried to play it on my computer' but the sound didn't work (except in vlc player, but the codec there is internal).

I opened the file with avicodec avd it said the audio was
" Audio : 5.88 MB, 192 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x50 = Mpeg-1 audio Layer 1, Supported", although it isn't supported, and the program won't give me a link to the codec.

What should i do???? I want to encode it to dvd, but the encoder can't read the file.

    Thanks,
    ZiGzAg

Have you just tried add the video in a authoring tool like tmpgenc dvd author? Some dvb recordings are dvd compliant.

You can try "fix" the video with pvastrumento before adding it.

  4. If anybody is interested, the pvastrumento didn't work for me, but what did work was the Mainconcept MPEG Encoder.

I simply encoded the file and it started working fine.

BTW:the DVD author didn't comply with the file.

    thx anyway, Baldrick!
