    Hi guys,

I am trying to burn DVD-R from the TV recorded on my PC. The TV card outputs mpeg2 source and, put it shortly, the DVD that I burnt has audio sync problem. It gets to about 1 to 2 sec out of sync in the end of 2 chapters of one hour programme, enough to get me annoyed.

Here's what I have done in the process.

    1. Capture mpeg2 files from my Leadtek TV card. Checked with WinDVD, no sync problem.
    2. Use VideoRedo on the files to cut out all the commericals. Checked with WinDVD, no sync problem.
    3. Using MF3 SE to make chapters and burn DVD. Audio sync problem at the final burnt DVD

I have checked the setting 'stream output for MovieFactory' in VideoRedo and told MF3 'Do not convert compliant MPEG files' (they are already in mpeg2).

My computer is a WinXP SP2, Celeron 2.8GHz, 512 MB RAM, Pioneer DVD 8X DL writer, 120 GB hardisk. I tried turning off all the Norton antivirus / sercurity program but the problem is still there.

So, is it my computer or MF3 just not up to the job?

    Cheers,
    Alex

  2. Try authoring with TMPGEnc DVD Author. If that's out of sync too, you are probably dropping video frames while cappng.

Thanks for the advise Barnabas but I am not sure I want to shell out more money on software just yet. I did tried the TMPGEnc demo before but now it's long expired and won't let me use it again.

Would a non-hardware encoding TV card causing frame drop u have mentioned?

    Cheers,
    Alex

  4. Sure can, especially since you are encoding to mpeg on the fly.

Just another question, by 'dropping video frames during capping', why didn't it show audio sync problem when I play the edited file (with VideoReDo) on my WinDVD player?

I had the same problem... The out-of-synch audio didn't "show up" until the DVD was authored...
Try the "Quick stream fix" in VideoRedo before editing.... It worked 100% fine for me...
