What browser are you using. Maybe you have set to delete all details (cookies, cache, history etc..) when your browser closes.

Its the same case for me.

I have the same problem with IE6. I have to log in at each initial visit although it does not ask for my log in detail for each reply like firefox does.

  19. Seems like something may of screwed up in zonealarm, and shutting it down and restarting seems to have sorted it.

so you have a crappy firewall installed...

  21. It would appear so. Thanks for your help Baldrick. I am actually using a linksys wireless router with built in firewall now so I do wonder if there is any point in using a software firewall. What are your thoughts Baldrick.

  22. I'm not Baldrick, but...

Software firewall: Gives you control over which programs access the internet, give syou control over cookies and stuff (and zonealarm blocks ads, I believe)

Hardware firewall: Gives you control over wich programs access the internet (though much more limited, through port blocking) + blocks incoming ports from attacks

    I'd say keep both

EDIT: By "both" I meant both a software and hardware firewall, it doesn't have to be zonealarm

I'd say get rid of ZoneAlarm....it blocks way too much.

I use Kerio Personal Firewall 2.1.4...the best software firewall, not 304932490 features just a firewall.
