Hi,
I have a client that has given me their corporate film which was made many years ago as a VCD. Is there any way I can extract the MPEG 1 from it as they want me to add parts of the programme to a new corporate production?
Thanks
Dave

Dave, I just wanted to warn you that if you try to make a DVD out of it, many DVD authoring applications refuse to accept MPEG-1 input, even though VCD video is allowed for in the DVD specification. The audio will have to be converted from 44 KHz to 48 KHz for DVD too. DVD authoring programs that will accept MPEG-1 include Scenarist (VERY expensive) and DVD-Lab. I'm sure there are others, but I have read about quite of the cheaper ones that reject all MPEG-1 video or try to encode it to MPEG-2. I don't advise re-encoding VCD MPEG-1 video to MPEG-2. The final result will NOT be pretty.

Hi, Thanks for the quick replies. The reason for the MPEG 1 is they want to play it as an MPEG 1 so once extracted nothing more will be done with it.
