I am putting together a promotional demo CD of our software product and want some catchy, fast-paced music in the background. For the pros, what is this background music called and where can you get such music?

  2. It's called background music or sound loops. What you want is royalty free background music. Now that you know what to Google on you should find plenty of sources.

Here's one to get you started:

Opuzz - Royalty Free Music Library & Background Production Music Loops
