Hi. First of all, I hope this post in in the correct forum. I want to transfer old video tapes to DVD for reasons of space. My PC (see my profile) came bundled with Sonic MyDVD. At first, I thought it would be easy to transfer VHS to DVD as there is an option to burn straight from video to DVD, so went out & bought some 8x speed DVD+R's. Soon realised that this version of MyDVD will only directly transfer digital video to DVD.
I copied a a 30 minute programme from a VHS onto my PC as a mpg and tried burning it to a DVD. the software seemed to burn to the disc and I could see a change in colour part-way across the disc. However, I couldn't get it to play in either my Playstation 2 or in either of the drives on my PC.
Has anyone got any suggestions as to what I could be doing wrong?
