I have recently made a copy of spiderman 2, it was an NTSC version of the film. When i burn the vob files and play them back on my standalone dvd player i get a jerky picture. I am from PAL land and only get this problem with ntsc video sources. Is there a way of converting the vob files to pal standard without losing too much quality.
Peace

Thanks Baldrick, i decided to go with DIKO. I created a project with dvd2avi and have loaded the d2v and ac3 files into diko which is converting now, may take a while as it's encoding beetween 5 and 11 fps(about 5 hrs). Diko seems like a good bundle-avisynth and plugins, dvddecrypter, divx etc..but the proof is in the pudding. I will post when i finish and tell you how i got on.

Problem solved, just played back the project on my standalone and all of the jerkiness is gone. It took an hour to prepare the source material and DIKO another 5 hours to convert from ntsc to pal (2.80ghz processor) but it was worth it as there has been no noticeable depreciation in picture or sound quality. I am very pleased with DIKO, everthing is more or less automated-i thought i would at least have to load my ac3 file into besweet for the audio conversion but no it did it all for me, nice one. Also it spits out the movie in both vob and iso format which is handy, configuring it is straightforward and the instructions are easy for noobs like myself to follow so it is definately worth a look. Thanks go to Baldrick for pointing me in the right direction as i'm sure my original thread had been asked a million times.
