    hey all,
    what programs are good to use with encoding mp4 videos to another format such as, mpeg1,2 or avi. The mp4 files I have will not open in tmpgenc, or virtualdub or virtualdubmod. any suggestions?

    quicktime pro then.

    You can also demux/split the video and audio and convert those separate. Use for exeample yamb.

    Or try Nerovision Express, it supports some mp4 video.
