    Hi

    I live in the UK (PAL/I). I need to buy a new VCR with AV OUT. At present I cannot find one.

    The VCR I want is a Panasonic NV-SV121EB which has TBC.

    But I cannot find out if the AV on this machine is OUT or IN.

    My question;

    Reading up on SCART, it seems that Scart has replaced the AV IN/OUT.

    Is this correct?

    If I use Scart through a switchable phono adapter - will the quality be as good as if I'd used the AV OUT (like my old JVC machine)?

    One other question - the Panasonic VCR states TBC - will this TBC be transferred OUT - in other words is the TBC only for tape playback - or will this corrected signal be output so that I can plug it to my ADVC 100?

    Thank you in advance - Stephen

    I've just got one of these decks - it has scart, s-video and av out. I'm using av.
    I'm using both a DAC100 (similar to your ADVC) and an AIW 8500 to capture, and the results of both the tbc and dnr functions are captured just fine.
    Seems to be a great unit - very glad I bought it.
