As the title says... when I load a video in vlc, it works perfectly, except the audio doesn't... It just very loud ripping sound, and I can barely hear the sound (not that it matters, because its to unbearable)...

Whats the deal? Am I missing a codec or something? All my video’s run in WMPC

I recall having what you are having a while back. I think I was trying to play some mkv files and getting likeyou said normal video play back but high level scratchy sound (kinda like a modem transmission sound). I believe it was caused by the installation of different codecs and also different versions of the same codecs at different time frame and by different softwares, as well as some so called codec packs which some people strongly discourage using them. Anyway, I cleaned up all the codecs and reinstalled the latest ones and that fixed the problem.
