Alright I have a 46" Toshiba HDTV Widescreen. I couldn't stand having it cut off the top and bottom of the screen, nor could I stand it being stretched and fat. So I put it on Natural, which leaves the left and right gray. I left it on this way for quite some time... and now those areas where the gray was are much darker than the screen in the middle. So when I watch DVD's it has those areas darker and really takes away the viewing experience. Is there any way to fix this?
Thanks.

Make a video with the middle part in the same gray and movie-strips on the edges, and then play it for the equivalent amount of time?

The only way to repair screen burn in is to replace the CRTs. Very costly and not worth the expense.

Plasma screens do have this problem. That's why when you use them as 4:3 you must run everyday that demo program they have, to "refresh" the non used areas
LCD screens don't have this problem. -
aye,and theres no way to fix it,once done, its like rear projection lcd/crt tvs, only way is a new screen or in your case, more probably, new screen and innards.
the burn in time for a rear projection,be it lcd/crt or dlp,is 100 hours, then after that really its owner usage entirely.
if its still under warranty, complain,if not, ooops!LifeStudies 1.01 - The Angle Of The Dangle Is Indirectly Proportionate To The Heat Of The Beat,Provided The Mass Of The Ass Is Constant.
