    Aktee,

I found the problem with CCE 2.70 not starting, As the previous errors that I have had were typos I decided to really scrutinze my Batchconvert.bat file. As I stated before the space was not there maybe I wrote the script correctly but made a typo after I cut and pate. Who knows. But I did notice that there was no space between the CCE270 and theer was no . between the 270

    @set cce=C:\Program Files\ CCE270\CCEFRONT.exe

I decided to change it to teh following c:\program files\cce 2.70\ccefront.exe

I saved the changes and just for laughs I fired up teh mainencode.bat next thin I knwo CCE started right up. But its notdoig anything at least notthat I can see. Ill leave it up all night and Ill see if it makes any chnages.

Now teh next issue is determining why the avs will not laod into cce correctly, AT least I think thats what the problem is.

Once again thank you. We are really making progress. I couldnt have done it wothout your help, Not only do I need to take aclass on resolution sizes and aspectratios encoding and so on, I need to find a class for typing, When you have a momnet ask your parents if they remember their parents ever mentioning a typing class.

haha. It's no problem man, it's my hobby to help people. No problem about the "hjacking", lol! You were trying to help, it's most welcome! no need to apologize =)

Did you create the template? Did you really name it Naruto2415??
I'm talking about the CCE Template.

    AKtee,

Thanks for the quick reply. I checked the CCE template and yes it is named Naruto2415. I checked by opening CCE and then by double checking it by openin CCE through CCEFRONT.exe. Then I know I am infamous for my typos so I decided to check the Batchconvert.bat to see if I inserted a space or what....no space everything is set for CCE template Naruto2415.

I did notice that after I closed out CCE the mainencode.bat script continued and opened another non functioning cce app. (maybe not the correct phrase all my versions of cce worth with and without the ccefront.) CCE just did not do anything.

I dl and installed teh most recent versionof CCE front from the link on your tutorial page so I really dont have a clue.

I just tripple checked everything same response but now I made sure that the setting for run modein ccefront I set to normal I even tried it changing the setting to batch and nothing happens.

From my experience with CCE in the past and this may be a long shot, but doesnt CCE need an Ecl file to run a batch. Again it may be a shot in the dark.

I only use CCE one avi at a time and trust me that gets old real quick not to mention that I would manually need to change teh FPS either through teh dvd authoring app or through DVD2SVCD

I guess I'm stuck on stupid at this point.

well then, it means that ccefront is not compatible with the latest version of cce...
    we're in trouble here.

    but let's try something first.
    click Start, Run.
    copy and paste:

    "C:\Program Files\CCE270\CCEFRONT.exe" -t "Naruto2415" "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\Naruto_161.avs" -batch

tell me what it says or does..
please be sure that naruto_161.avs exists.

And if you can, try to search for an older version.
    Mine is 2.70.01.05

    Morning Aktee,

I wasn't exactly sure if those two lines were meant to be used together or individually but here are my results:

    "C:\Program Files\CCE270\CCEFRONT.exe" -t "Naruto2415"
When I run this line, CCE opens up and does nothing.

    "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\Naruto_161.avs" -batch
When I run this line I get the following error: Windows Cannot open this file.

    "C:\Program Files\CCE 2.70\CCEFRONT.exe" -t "Naruto2415" "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\Naruto_161.avs" -batch
When I run this line CCE opens up and nothing happens.

please be sure that naruto_161.avs exists.
I guess the hunt is on for 2.70.01.05

We are making progress and I am really feeling enthusiastic about completeting this project. When you have a moment can you please post a couple of screen shots of Naruto encoded with the other encoders you include in your tutorial?

Once again thanks for your time and patience with the issues I am having. Trust me its not you, or your guide. People often come to me to fix things if they saw the look on my face right now theyd think twice about asking.

    Wait.

    Then, try.

    "C:\Program Files\CCE 2.70\" -t "Naruto2415" "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\Naruto_161.avs" -batch

After CCE 2.70\, point it to your CCE Executable
    I think it's cctspt.exe for trial version.

    Try that ! :O.

  7. first of all, i want to say that this guide has been really helpful. I don't know if this has been asked before, but I have been having some problem with :
    [AonE]_Naruto_143
    [AonE]_Naruto_144
    [AonE]_Naruto_145
    [AonE]_Naruto_146.

These episodes give me the error : "Frame size 722 x 56 is not supported. Supported frame size is up to 720 x 576".

I have followed the exact instructions given by Aktee and I have successfully encoded Naruto episodes 110 - 150, except for the mentioned episodes. Also, they are the only ones that return this error.

Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance.

Yes I peeped that typo between \cce 2.70\ and guess what it works cce started right on up and started encoding. You are the *&%%(^)(^) MAN.

But you know me, we overcome one hurdle just to face another, so I will clean up my hdd and let your magic batch script run over night. If I have anyother issues I'wll deff drop you a line.

    Once again Thank you.

Tonight my lady shall be singing the joys of your name.

  9. im having a problem that may or may not be related to the encoding in the guide, but im just not sure

the problem comes when i go to cut the opening/ending scenes after encoding and multiplexing with the ac3 audio i created from the split wav files from the source video. i use Mpeg Video Wizard for my cutting and ive never had a problem before with it. but everytime i make a cut in one of these episodes, the resulting clip stutters badly.

would this be the fault of the program or something corrupt in my encoded mpeg2 files? or even the ac3 audio files? maybe i left off a setting in CCE that would cuase this to crop up. thanks for any help

    @p1noypr1de
there's a problem with the AVS file.
Please open the *.avs file with Media Player. It should display an error.
My hypothesis: You didn't rename the files, leaving [ and ] or something like that, which messed the batch!
722 x 56 is the resolution of an avisynth error screen.

    @onyxbflyH6
Yeah! I'll be waiting. heheheheh. Happy that it encodes!

    @trooper11
gotta be honest with you, I never tried cutting video!
Can you play the encoded mpeg (before cutting, with audio).
I'll ask you to watch for the 15 first seconds.. and watch 15 seconds in the middle...
and watch 15 seconds at the end.
See if the audio in synced or if something is wrong with it.

  11. I renamed the files to simpler file names such as "Naruto 144.avi", but none of them works. When I open the *.avs file in a media player, it says:

"AviSource: Could not decompress frame 0 (C:\AviSource\EncodedVideo\Naruto 144.avs, line 1)"

However, when I try to run the batch file, it does not display the error about frame size anymore. Instead, it outputs a 2mb m2v file. I tried to play this m2v file but all it shows is the same error as above ("AviSource: Could not decompress frame 0...").

I also noticed that these four are from [AonE], so I am going to try dattebayo version of those episodes.
    --------------
**EDIT: Dattebayo version of those episodes work. AonE probably didnt encode those episodes the same way as the previous ones. Thanks for your help anyways.

    Aktee, Aktee, Aktee,

You are the man. A couple of questions though and or new problems that I have discovered.

The batch did everything exactly as planned. But my encodes are still in 23.97 FPS, I do not know if pulldown.exe did its thing like it was supposed to. I guess not I still have the 23.97 FPS

I decided to check each encode with Gspot and each one came out with the correct 29.97FPS. I do not know why my media players came up with 23.97 FPS, Sorry for the confusion, I can just picture the WTF look on your face

I noticed in your tutorial that it is supposed to rename and delete the files that cce encoded.

Unfortunetly that was not the case. When I ran the following line from the batch_for_Naruto_157.bat direcetly in the run.

    DEL "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\Naruto_157.m2v"

    I get the following error:

Windows Cannot find 'DEL'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the start button, and then click ok.

The same thing happens when I try to run the rename line:

    REN "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\Naruto_157.mpv" "Naruto_157.m2v"

Windows Cannot find 'REN'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the start button, and then click ok.

Here is a copy of my batch_for_Naruto_157.bat:

    "C:\Program Files\CCE 2.70\cctsp.exe" -t "Naruto2415" "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\Naruto_157.avs" -batch
    MOVE "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\batch\Naruto_157.mpv" "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo"
    REN "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\Naruto_157.mpv" "Naruto_157.m2v"
    "C:\Program Files\DVD2SVCD\pulldown\pulldown.exe" "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\Naruto_157.m2v" "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\encodedNaruto_157.m2v" -run -exit
    "C:\Program Files\DVD2SVCD\besweet\besweet.exe" -core( -input "C:\AVISource\Naruto_157.avi" -output "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\Naruto_157.mp2" -logfilea "C:\Program Files\DVD2SVCD\besweet\BeSweet.log" ) -ssrc( --rate 48000 ) -toolame( -m s -b 192 )
    "C:\Program Files\DVD2SVCD\dvdauthor\mplex.exe" -f 8 -o "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\Naruto_157.mpg" "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\encodedNaruto_157.m2v" "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\Naruto_157.mp2"
    DEL "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\Naruto_157.m2v"

All in all it was a success I can delete the extra and now I have the option of using the elementary streams the mp2 audio and the m2v or I can use the mpeg and let my authoring app demux the sound.

Oh I had one problem Naruto_156.m2v only came out at 3.25mb I dont know what caused that. There must be a problem in the avi itself everything before and after it ran fine. Although I try to diagnose whatthe issues are before writing my postto you. I did watch the entire avi and its intact. so i dont have a clue on that one. I ran the line that you suggested that i use to try to get cce to run:

    "C:\Program Files\CCE 2.70\" -t "Naruto2415" "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\Naruto_156.avs" -batch

I just cahnged the episode number from 161 to 156.

I noticed that the m2v came up short while it was still encoding the rest of the eps.

When I ran the script above the m2v came up short but it gave me the fullsized mpv. Naruto_156.mpv which came out at the correct size of 400 mb. So I dont knwo why it choked on the m2v and the vaf and the mpv came out fine. I dont knpw why it decided to spit out the mpv file either.

Yes I checked to see that the template was set to Naruto 2415 when I ran the script

Is there away to set Besweet to encode the audio into AC3 instead of MP2?

Will you ever make a GUI for your script based app?

Which encoder do you think is teh best? I have read a few forums and have turned avis into full sized vds etc but all the guides I have read suggest that you set the minimum bitrate to 4500. When I do that the m2v comes out at 700mb which is to big.

With your bitrate setting of 2415 they come out right at 400mb give or take afew mb. Did you decide that because it was better to have teh max quality without having to reencode the dvd using shrink or simmilar app to reduce the size back to DVD5? I think so but I wanted to knwo your answer.

BTW I can not say that I notice any improvement on naruto with the minimum set at 2415 or 4500.

I wanted to try the 1 vbr pass with the q setting at 34. Do you think there is an improvment on quality over 5 passes?

I tried 1pass vb4 but it still took about an hour or so and it did like 5 passes anyway. I'm sure i set it correctly but I wanted to double check with you first.

Thank you for your time and patience with this matter. You have been a tremendous help. You are the man. Please dont chnage your ways.

    Best Regards,

wow duude!! that's a friggin long post!! lol!!!

    thanks for your comments.
let' start with the 23.976FPS thing.
If Gspot shows you 29.97, then it's good! lol! your player is probably checking the pics/secs. as long as it's running well and that gspot shows 29.97, its good!

as for the DEL and REN thing. What windows are you running? This only works on XP I guess..

As fothe episode 156 thing coming out 3,25mb, did you try to open it? it should be all black with a red text error in the middle. That's an Avisynth error...

and yeah, you can encode into AC3 instead of MP2 with BeSweet! If you want I can give you the code to replace.

As for the GUI..... I have thought about it. I just don't have programming knowledge and time =).
Good friend of mien at AnimeSUKI made one. it works EXTREMELY well! It's made with the help of PHP and it kicks ass! lol!

    The best encoder? CCE.
When you read the other guides, it's meant for normal XVID (hollywood movies). We are encoding cartoons =).

I thought of the bitrate 2415 because that was the necessary bitrate for 10 episode/dvd. I didnt want 8 episodes, or 5 episodes per dvd.
So I tested and tested, and saw that 5 episodes and 10 episodes in 1 dvd didn't affect the quality!

As for the 1vbr pass with Q setting of 34. well. Not really. It should be the same quality, but lower size, and faster encoding time.
It shouldn't take an hour, it should take the same time as 1 pass. You probably clicked on the wrong thing :P.

    thanks for the comments

i set up the script and the video encoded, but it only gets as far as the .m2v renaming part. I'm using CCE 2.70.02.04. This is what i get for video:

hmm, first time I see that =p.
but like the message says, did you try to reinstall your codecs?

Uninstall every codec, restart, and install them again. I use K-Lite Codec Pack, but you're free to use anything. I suggest you get the codecs indivually..

    Happy Holidays Aktee,

Havent heard from you in a while so I figured I would check back in once school starts.

as for the DEL and REN thing. What windows are you running? This only works on XP I guess..
I am running win xp sp2 maybe it will only work with sp1..... who knows who cares I'm just glad that I got it to work.

As fothe episode 156 thing coming out 3,25mb, did you try to open it? it should be all black with a red text error in the middle. That's an Avisynth error...
Nope I thought so at firts but it is not. When I play it only plays for a few seconds. Maybe CCE just decided not to fully encode that one. Besides if it was a avisynth error would all of the eps come out screwed up not just that one?

Why would CCE only produce the mpv instead of the m2v?

and yeah, you can encode into AC3 instead of MP2 with BeSweet! If you want I can give you the code to replace.
Please do so. I just feel more comfortable working with AC3 instead of MP2 and while we are at is there anyway to convert it to 5.1??? yeah I knwo wishful thinking but knowing you you allready have that sorted out so i thought I might ask anyway

As for the GUI..... I have thought about it. I just don't have programming knowledge and time =).
Good friend of mien at AnimeSUKI made one. it works EXTREMELY well! It's made with the help of PHP and it kicks ass! lol!
Where is it at, I'm ready to try it I think I saw iton on eof t eh links you gave me a while ago but I was so busy trying to get your method down I forgot where I placed it. Let alone try to use it now my goddaughter wants to use it to

As far as the 1pass vbr, q factor I will try it again and report back to you.

    thanks for the comments smile.gif
When I read your original post and your guide. I was like no one says thanks. LOL I was like screw that. This brother needs all the praise that he can get. YOU have taught me so much this whole experience has been so much fun.

    Once again Thank you,

Try DirectShowSource instead of AVISource. Check the AVISynth manual for syntax.
