    hmm...
    can you copy/paste the command that it generates? about BeSweet..

    You could try forcing the input sample rate to 48..
    with
    -ota( -fs 48000 )

    hmmm.. shibatch is used to convert sample rate. what episode did you say it was? from what group, i wanna check it out too. Maybe it's the way they encoded it. =\.

  2. After running into problems, I made sure to download all Bleach Society subs, which is what these are, but I've had the same issues with Lunar's as well.

    Where do I add the tag on besweet's command line to force it to 48khz?

  8. actually i had another question first.

    after doinga recent batch of naruto epsiodes using this method, i ntoiced that the system info for the resulting videos are varied in dvd lab pro.

    some are listed as 2:3 pulldown, some are NTSC, and some are 3:2. now hwo could any of these be different since they are all formt he same fansubber and all part of one batch of settings?

    woah you're serious?
    Then it means Pulldown is doing something, and applying 2:3, or 3:2 if he think it is better..

    Hmm.. Weird. But it's not causing any problem eh? =|.

  11. Aktee - call me confused......

    I have had problems as you know converting eps 41 - 49 of Bleach for some odd reason, they just would not encode the audio portion. Well, I went and re-downloaded them from Lunar subs, and 1 by 1, they all worked! Unreal, so that problem is resolved. Now onto a new one.

    I started downloading subbed One Piece - and have 1-30 so far. Well, all have converted fine, except episode 24. When you run either Quenc (amazing program!) or Ffmpeg, I get the following error:

    C:\AviSource\EncodedVideo\Batch>"c:\Program Files\Quenc\quenc.exe" -i "c:\avisou
    rce\EncodedVideo\OnePiece-24.avs" -o "c:\avisource\EncodedVideo\OnePiece-24.m2v"
    -b 2415 -maxbitrate 8000 -dc 10 -1 -mpeg2 -nohq -vbr -noscene -nocgop -interlac
    ed -noextreme -gopsize 12 -maxbframes 2 -aspectratio 4:3 -auto -close

    C:\AviSource\EncodedVideo\Batch>"c:\Program Files\DVD2SVCD\pulldown\pulldown.exe
    " "c:\avisource\EncodedVideo\OnePiece-24.m2v" "c:\avisource\EncodedVideo\encoded
    OnePiece-24.m2v" -run -exit
    PULLDOWN - v0.99d, by Hard Code.
    [Based on sources by Brent Beyeler (beyeler@home.com)]

    Unable to read from file c:\avisource\EncodedVideo\OnePiece-24.m2v.

    Then it starts encoding the audio.

    Any idea what to do next? If it was a codec issue, I can't imagine it applying to 1 episode out of a batch of 10.......

    wohoo! good to know that Bleach worked! hehehe.

    as for the One piece... 24 you say? It's from Kaizoku? Does 25-30 works? Or is it really 24?!

    I don't remember seeing something different about episode 24.
    Can you post a GSPOT Screenshot of eps 23 and 24? I don't think it's a codec issues neither...
    Quote Quote
  13. The eps downloaded from Kaizoku come in packs of 10 - This group was 21-30. 21-23 convert fine, 24 has the problem shown before, and 25-30 work fine as well.

    The Gspot info is the same in each as far as codecs go - the only difference I see is in the fps - 23 + 25 are 23.97, 24 is 19.18..........

    video codecs are all xvid.

    I wish you could download these 1 at a time for problems like this - cause it gets you stuck in conversions.

    Ah-Ah!
    episode 24 is 19 fps!! hmm

    Generate the batch, and modify the avisynth for episode 24.

    before the "ConvertTo[...]" line, add:

    ChangeFPS(23.976)

    save it, and play the AVS with media player.

    if it's sluggish, try 29.970 instead.
    Quote Quote
  15. That did it! Woo-hoo!

    Thanks! Now why on earth does the fps change on that one? grumble grumble....

    I know it has something to do with AviSource/DirectShowSource and ConvertTo[...]

    So hmm.

    Can you post me a screenshot of Gspot with the video?
    and can you copy paste the .AVS of the video
    and can you tell me if you're using quenc or cce?

    Good Morning Aktee,

    I am a total noob. I don't like to think of myself as one but when I was reading your guide I was like wtf!!

    A few of questions:

    1) I manged to to do the avs script. I did get the black borders around all four sides. But that would leave it looking like a big square. I would like to know if it will automatically resize itself on the television screen?

    2) I do not know how to write the script for the batch. I know that the avs script was done in notepad. Is it safe to assume that I should do the same for the batch? Instead of using extension .avs should I use .bat?

    3) Originally I read that your guide was for CCE 2.67 then you upgraded it to CCE 2.70. I have access to CCE2.67 at my job, should I just try to use CCE2.67 as if it was 2.70?

    3a) If I can not do the same thing with CCE2.67 as you illustrate with CCE 2.70 Can you please post a link to the original guide?

    4) Using your avs script will it give me widescreen output? If so how tall are the borders? For example in the test script you provide the borders on the top and bottom appear to be about 1 inch on the top and bottom.

    5) "Path for source videos (The video you want to encode should reside in there)
    @set sourcevideo=C:\AviSource" This does not make any sense to me.
    For example ( I read in one of your prevous post that a person shoudld keep the avis in a simple directory. BTW I read all 12 pages. of your forum) C:\Naruto 155.avi. Do I need the source? Do I put them all in one folder?

    (After rereading it I think I got the answer but I will wait for your reply)

    Last But not least I want to thank you for sharing your knowledge and your patience. As I stated above I read all 12 pages of the forum. I was marveled at how you were able to answer each and every question, and even if you made a mistake, you acknowledged it and corrected it. Not a lot of people are willing to do that.

    Sorry for my long winded post.

    I look forward tohearing rom you. Thank you for your time and patience with this matter.

    Best Regards,

    Onyxbflyh6

    PS hopefully when I m done I'll have Naruto dvd worth givig to my Goddaughter for chrsitmas. She got me into Naruto. Then she asked me if I can make her a dvd.....

    Let's start.

    Television screen got something called the Safe-Area. Actually, if you encoded to DVD without the black-borders, the subtitles will get cut-off. Safe-Area varies. If you have spare time (and alot of DVD's to test on.. but I don't think you have time since it's christmas soon), you should test! One without the black borders and one with it. But to make things short, It won't "resize" itself, your television just won't show the black borders. Please note that I haven't tested that on a Plasma or LCD Tv's. I don't know how those works..

    2) I do not know how to write the script for the batch. I know that the avs script was done in notepad. Is it safe to assume that I should do the same for the batch? Instead of using extension .avs should I use .bat?
    Yes, I guess I should have mentionned it. Batch files works with notepads. Do not confuse Notepad with Wordpad -- Or Microsoft Word. It really has to be notepad. And yes, save it as a .bat

    3) Originally I read that your guide was for CCE 2.67 then you upgraded it to CCE 2.70. I have access to CCE2.67 at my job, should I just try to use CCE2.67 as if it was 2.70?
    Yes, well, hmm, check the images in the tutorial.. and try do put the same things in 2.67. Same options -- different places.
    or check these images in my original original tutorial. Please, just check the images since the steps are very different! http://forums.narutofan.com/showpost.php?p=1354973&postcount=11

    4) Using your avs script will it give me widescreen output? If so how tall are the borders? For example in the test script you provide the borders on the top and bottom appear to be about 1 inch on the top and bottom.
    Hmm. Nope. You can tweak the settings so it will accept widescreen input.. but i didn't make it so you can output widescreen.
    a) I don't have a widescreen TV =(
    b) Anamorphic Widescreen (real 16:9) too hard to test on because of reason a)
    c) CCE tends to choke on widescreen material.

    What it does with widescreen output, it just makes them regular 4:3, by adding black borders.. Think of a Rectangle, where you add blocks to form a Square. =|. Sorry man..

    5) "Path for source videos (The video you want to encode should reside in there)
    @set sourcevideo=C:\AviSource" This does not make any sense to me.

    Yes. Let's say you're encoding episode 150 to 160. Put episode 150 to 160 in C:\Avisource.
    If you have your anime real nice packed and ordered, and don't want to move them (but they have to be renamed, eh..), change C:\Avisource to the folder with the sources in it..

    Thanks for your comments man, but imma watch this post until you get it right !! hahaha..

    Good Morning Aktee,

    wowow! I'm surprised you read all 12 pages!! =|.
    thanks for your comments! =)
    Let's start.

    I used to be a member of videohelp.com but I never hada reason to post. But now I did. But I had to wait a day. Plus in your page with teh instructions you mentioned that noone seems to thank you so I wanted to read and gaugae others results and see if they gave you the proper credit that you deserve.
    Television screen got something called the Safe-Area. Actually, if you encoded to DVD without the black-borders, the subtitles will get cut-off. Safe-Area varies. Yes I understand what you are saying. Would you mind putting a screen shot so that I can see I guess I need a visualization. When I watch anime the subtitles are hard encoded into the actuall picture. If you add balck borders on the top and bottom the picture is still displayed with the subs on the anime itself. Its not like we are cropping the anime. We are encoding the black bars on the top and the bottom. The picture is still the same not really stretched but its in widescreen.

    The scrip I used was the following:

    AVISource("C:\naruto 155.avi",Audio=True)
    AddBorders(0,60,0,60)
    LanczosResize(720,360)
    ConvertToYUY2()

    I only knew that I could open the avs in media player calssic and view the changes was when I read your guide.
    Maybe this is where I get into to trouble becvause I have a just enough knowledge to getinto trouble but not enough to get out
    Yes, I guess I should have mentionned it. Batch files works with notepads. Do not confuse Notepad with Wordpad -- Or Microsoft Word. It really has to be notepad. And yes, save it as a .bat

    I eventually assumed that it was in note pad. But I was still slightly leary because .bat files are used in DOS. And I haven't seen/ used DOS since version 4.0 or is it 5.0 (I guess I'm showing my age.) Currently I use DOS to diagnose network ip stuff but I never wrote a script for it......
    Yes, well, hmm, check the images in the tutorial.. and try do put the same things in 2.67. Same options -- different places.

    I was thinking you were going to say that but I just wanted to make sure because I know that everytime CCE does what they feel is an upgrade they add stuff and chnage stuff around. around but when creating the script do I have it point to the CCEFRONT or the EclCCE.exe?

    Now is where the fun begins lol
    Hmm. Nope. You can tweak the settings so it will accept widescreen input.. but i didn't make it so you can output widescreen.

    I understand what you mean by saying make adjustments to accept widescreen input. But the Naruto episodes are in fullscreen I would like teh results to be displayed in widescreen. I dont have a widescreen tv But my goddaughter has. In all actuality if I could watch everything including cartoons and anime, I would prefer widescreen. I hate full screen, wide screen provides a better aspect ratio of a movie or anything. You see more of the picture horizontally which is where it counts. Films are made to capture panorama so the parts that the wide screen cuts off are not important. Visually it makes the experience sublimely better.
    Yes. Let's say you're encoding episode 150 to 160. Put episode 150 to 160 in C:\Avisource.
    If you have your anime real nice packed and ordered, and don't want to move them (but they have to be renamed, eh..), change C:\Avisource to the folder with the sources in it..

    Thanks for your comments man, but imma watch this post until you get it right !! hahaha..

    keep me up on the news!

    This is where the real fun begins. I cut and paste the script into notepad and made the appropraie adjsutments. But the resluts were less than stellar. From what I read in your guide. When I include Batchconvert.bat into the avi source folder where the anime is I double click on it. I geta DOS screen that says source file could not be found, then it says that like 10 or 11 times then it puts 10 or 11 avs scripts in into the same folder. Which according to the reading the avs are supposed to be in a new folder inside the avisource folder called encoded video, where all the avs scripts are supposed to be. And inside of that there is supposed to be a folder called batch.

    Here are my results I got the Batchconvert.bat file into the avisource folder. When Iget the error that I stated above with a new twist. I now have two avisource folders. In teh main one with teh Batchconvert.bat file and the naruto eps. In the second one I get the EncodedVideo and inside of that I get the batch folder.

    Now to add insult to injury because for the life of me I couldnt figure out what screwed the pooch. I decided to try one of the the avs scripts. Then to my dismay I receive the following error:

    AVI Source autodetect: couldn't open file 'C:\AVISOURCE\\Naruto_157.avi'
    Error Code:2
    (C:\AVI Source\Naruto_157.avs,line 1)

    It did this for every single one of teh avs scrips i tested.

    No I knwo you make think that it is a avs script error (it may very well be) or you may think it is a codec issue (I use AVISynth with The Film Machine and have never had a hickup with it. Therefore since I installed it twice (you said click yes when installing dvd2svcd) it may be causing a conflict.

    Or it may just be I ediited the wrong line or something when I was creating the batchconver.bat file.

    BTW I am using an older version of CCEFRONT because the most updated version cause hangupwhen I used CCE 2.50 or 2.66 or 2.67. I had assumed that it would continue to do so I used the older one. And I havent had any issues with CCE or The film Machine.

    Here is teh Batchconvert.bat file:

    @echo off

    @set applypulldown=yes
    @set resize=Lanczos4
    @set width=660
    @set height=440

    echo Batch Creation Finished! hehe - Now you just have to open MainEncoding.bat !!
    pause

    So all in all it has been a very intresting evening, and trust me that my frustration does not lie with you but I know that I have done something or glossed over or missed something that is turning this project into a nightmare.

    Thanks for your time and patience. I know it may be long but I tried to be as discriptive as possible since there will be about 9 to 10 hours between correspondence.

    Yes I understand what you are saying. Would you mind putting a screen shot so that I can see I guess I need a visualization. When I watch anime the subtitles are hard encoded into the actual picture. If you add black borders on the top and bottom the picture is still displayed with the subs on the anime itself. Its not like we are cropping the anime. We are encoding the black bars on the top and the bottom. The picture is still the same not really stretched but its in widescreen.
    After some testing, I found out that some groups (like AoNE) wraps the subtitles when it almost reach the edge.
    Keep in mind that Safe-Area is both vertically and horizontally!!

    Our goal is to resize the video (make it smaller), and add black borders around it, so that the TV-Safe area will only hide the black part, making the subs visible.

    You really have to test-encode it if you really wanna see it visually but I can make a few canvas with photoshop if you still don't understand. First time I entered the world of video conversion, I encoded 4 version of the same video.
    One without Black Bars
    One with Top/Down Black Bars
    One with Left/Right Black Bars
    One with TopDown LeftRight Black bars.

    It is that way that you really can see the effect of the TV-Safe area.

    About your comments in DOS.. Yeah. I haven't used DOS for a long time. But you know, batch are still the easiest way to automate things. ahaha =) About the age thing, I figured that since you had a goddaughter, you couldn't be that young =p.
    Now to the video stuff.

    I just figured out something when I re-read your first post. Actually, my current version of batch does NOT support 2.67. I would have to ask you to upgrade, or use Quenc. This ie because CCE 2.70 have support for individual command-switch. 2.67 only have options for batch command switch. Hmm.. If you can't upgrade, you'll have to use Quenc - It's not so bad, 45 minutes max for an episode.

    I know, Widescreen rocks!!!
    The only way I know to display fullscreen in a widescreen TV, would be to letterbox it.
    Actually, most WideScreen TV (And DVD players) automatically detects if the DVD content is 4:3 or 16:9. When it detects 4:3, most of the time, it will Letterbox it: meaning, the TV will add black bars on the left and right side automatically, keeping the Ratio.
    If it does not do it automatically, it will strech it out..

    That's the only "good" way to display fullscreen in a widescreen. Really.. Unless you really want it stretched, which would make Naruto's face very ugly. Or.. You could crop the top. But that would crop the head of some character...

    About the big error. Hmm looks like typo to me.

    I would like to ask you exactly where are located the video.
    Because

    The error shows:
    (C:\AVI Source\Naruto_157.avs,line 1)

    Look at how AVISource is written.. there's a space..

    But,
    @set sourcevideo=C:\AVISOURCE\
    Is written without space!!! Hmm..

    And second..
    In the same errors, it says
    AVI Source autodetect: couldn't open file 'C:\AVISOURCE\\Naruto_157.avi'
    notice the 2 \\?

    In the tutorial, it is written
    @set sourcevideo=C:\AviSource

    without the \ at the end.

    =)
    Keep me fresh on the news!

    Peace man!

    Good Morning Aktee,

    Thanks for your quick and courteous replies to my questions and comments.

    About the big error. Hmm looks like typo to me.

    After rereading your post several times I just opened up the avs script side by side to yourreply and theer you go the typos were jumping right out at me.

    The location of my naruto eps is c:\AVISOURCE

    I got everything up and running. Everything is where it is supposed to be. I tested the avs script and everything worked teh way it should. Here comes tonights headache. Then I get the following error after starting mainencoding.bat.

    **ERROR: [???] Unable to open file c:\AVISource\Encoded Video\Naruto_150.m2v

    I get that error until it completes. It will transcode teh audio for all 12 eps From what I gather the batch file is not activating CCEFRONT. No CCEFRONT,= no CCE, no CCE = no mpv or m2v file.

    I double and triple checked it. And for the life of me I can't figure it out, as if your mentioning the typos gave me an epiphany

    Here is a copy of Mainencoding.bat file. It looks pretty much the same as yours in your tutorial.

    ::MAIN ENCODING BATCH
    @echo off
    CALL "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\batch\batch_for_Naruto_1 50.bat"
    CALL "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\batch\batch_for_Naruto_1 51.bat"
    CALL "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\batch\batch_for_Naruto_1 52.bat"
    CALL "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\batch\batch_for_Naruto_1 53.bat"
    CALL "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\batch\batch_for_Naruto_1 54.bat"
    CALL "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\batch\batch_for_Naruto_1 55.bat"
    CALL "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\batch\batch_for_Naruto_1 56.bat"
    CALL "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\batch\batch_for_Naruto_1 57.bat"
    CALL "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\batch\batch_for_Naruto_1 58.bat"
    CALL "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\batch\batch_for_Naruto_1 59.bat"
    CALL "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\batch\batch_for_Naruto_1 60.bat"
    CALL "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\batch\batch_for_Naruto_1 61.bat"

    Here is a copy of batch_for_naruto_161.bat Notice on the third line it begins with MOVE. At the end of your guide when you said the batch_for_naruto_161.bat should look like this, the only thing that I could find wrong is MOVE, Its not in your turorial at all.

    "C:\Program Files\CCE270\CCEFRONT.exe" -t "Naruto2415" "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\Naruto_161.avs" -batch
    MOVE "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\batch\Naruto_161.mpv" "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo"
    REN "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\Naruto_161.mpv" "Naruto_161.m2v"
    "C:\Program Files\DVD2SVCD\pulldown\pulldown.exe" "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\Naruto_161.m2v" "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\encodedNaruto_161.m2v" -run -exit
    "C:\Program Files\DVD2SVCD\besweet\besweet.exe" -core( -input "C:\AVISource\Naruto_161.avi" -output "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\Naruto_161.mp2" -logfilea "C:\Program Files\DVD2SVCD\besweet\BeSweet.log" ) -ssrc( --rate 48000 ) -toolame( -m s -b 192 )
    "C:\Program Files\DVD2SVCD\dvdauthor\mplex.exe" -f 8 -o "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\Naruto_161.mpg" "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\encodedNaruto_161.m2v" "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\Naruto_161.mp2"
    DEL "C:\AVISource\EncodedVideo\Naruto_161.m2v"

    Here is teh first section of the Batchconvert.bat

    Maybe you can and will see something that I cant see. The rest of the file falls into the area of do not change unless you know whatyou are doing.

    @echo off
    @set applypulldown=yes
    @set resize=Lanczos4
    @set width=720
    @set height=360
    @set topbottom=60
    @set leftright=0
    @set audiobitrate=192
    @set sourcevideo=C:\AVISource
    @set template=Naruto2415
    @set cce=C:\Program Files\ CCE270\CCEFRONT.exe
    @set dvd2svcd=C:\Program Files\DVD2SVCD

    We are making progress. I might try your tutorial using QuenC because now I remember why my boss decided to go back to CCE 2.66 or 67. CCE 2.70 leaves a little to be desired in terms of quality. I thought it may have something to do with the resolution. But it doesn't I followed your example I tried the different resolutions with CCE 2.70 and the encodes I did with CCE 2.67 look better. I remeber teh days when CCE 2.5 was the end all to be all (as a matter of fact I still use it every now and then.)

    Once again thank you,

  24. well ive run into another issue that i just cant seem to figure out.

    im working on another series and this one doesnt have subs, so i odnt need to resize it at all.

    so before i ran the BatchConvert.bat file, I edited the resize to 720x480 and changed the border size to 0 as i have done before on series that dont need resizing, but this time, after running the batch and trying to start it, i get an error.

    the error is : Frame Size 722x56 is not supported. Supported frame size is up to 720x576

    i dont understand where that comes from. is that an error coming from the batch file, somehting mis marked, or the source files themselves?

    Good Morning Trooper11,

    Im sure Aktee will get back to you as soon as possible, after he is done wondering why I am still having problems

    MaybeI can be of some assistance, I came accross your post while I was checking to see if Aktee had a moment to respond to mine.

    the error is : Frame Size 722x56 is not supported. Supported frame size is up to 720x576

    720X576 is teh resolution setting for pal. Pal is 25 FPS and you would have change the FPS to 29.97 which is the standard for NTSC T.V.s

    You can use someting like Gspot or Mediainfo and run iton the anime and it will give you the specs.

    I'm not sure how you can go about this, as I recall reading in one of Aktess previous post that he doesnt really do much PAL conversions because he doenst have PAL surces.

    That being said I'm more than sure he will point you in the right direction.

    @Aktee I'm sorry if I did the wrong thing by asnwering his post. I really don't see alot of of other members trying to answer other questions so I figured I'd jump in and try to be helpfull.

  26. well my sources arent PAL, I know they are NTSC.

    the strange thing is that im using a copy of a BAT file that i used for another series without subs, a batch file that i know works and i can use even now.

    but when i copy it over to another directory with the next series i want to do, and change the source location and template, it reports that error.

    all the srouces ive been using are definitely NTSC and 23.976 frame rates, it must be something in the batch file, but what else would i need to change

  27. well apparently i fixed it. i decided to start form scratch and took the base template and altered it as usual and it works fine

    i guess you cant modify a batch file from another project, something gets left out

    Glad to hear that you got it sorted out. If only I could get this to work properly. My problem has to be that I missed a step somewhere or made a typo or something. I'll sit back and wait for Aktee to prevent me from puling my hair out

    @set cce=C:\Program Files\ CCE270\CCEFRONT.exe
    and..
    "C:\Program Files\CCE270\CCEFRONT.exe" -t "Naruto2415"

    why is there a space before CCE270? =\.

    but i dont think that's the problem -- can you tell me exactly what version of CCE you are using?
    If you are using cce 270 with CCEFRONT, did you configure CCEFRONT properly?

    Aktee,

    First and foremost I would like to take a moment to appologize if I my post to Trooper 11 was out of line. In retrospect i realize that most of the guys here have been there and done that with their different questions and Ans sessiosn with you. I do not want to come across as hijacking the moment.

    beleive it or not I checked the Batchconvert.bat script and there is no space before the cce.

    Nonetheless that space made no difference at all.

    I followeed the same exact instructions that are provide below from your guide.
    First, open CCEFRONT.EXE.
    Go in the Settings Tab
    Click on the [..] button andselect the CCE SP Executable.
    So simple you don't need a screenshot =)

    Unless Im the only jackass that needs a screenshot

    I am using CCE 2.70.02.01

    Thanks for getting back to me. Maybe its just me but it is actually refreshing when you are acttually ona forum and the creator of the process or the app takes time to out to answer the members questions.
    I know you are a student and this must be a very busy time of the year for you. Just wanted to say thank you for your time and patience.
