Are there any web sites that provide free transitions or templates for Ulead Movie Studio? Also, I'm using version 8 and I'm considering springing for version 9. Are there many significant differences between the two versions? Thank you!

You can to some degree customize the menus with Photoimpact, Ulead's image editing program. You can also import the menus from other Ulead programs such as Movie Factory, I'm pretty sure you can do the same with the templates in DVD Workshop. You can download the trial versions from their site and copy them to the VS folder. They'll have a .UFO extension so they should be very easy to find.

It's my understanding that VS9 made some significant improvements over 8. For one thing VS8 users were having a lot of sync issues that went away in 9. It now includes native AC3 support. There's quite a few improvements to the editing features as well, defintely worth a look.

thecoalman is right. The principle in this guide should be essentially the same for VS menu templates as well.

To import menu templates from other Ulead authoring apps, such as DVD MovieFactory (or even DVD Workshop), look in Program Files | Ulead Systems | Ulead DVD MovieFactory xx | Template | xx, and select one or all of the .UFO files you find there, then copy them to your target Ulead program in the same corresponding folder.

You might also try installing the previous versions of MovieFactory, 2 and 3, if you can manage to get you hands on them, then download and intall the free extra templates from Ulead, then copy those .UFO menu template files into your current Ulead VS version. That's a lot of free extra templates!
