Everytime i use TMPGEnc, and i use OUTPUT TO AVI FILE, the avi file doesnt play in media player, and cannot be fixed using divfix. when you run the AVI thru divfix, it says THIS IS NOT AN AVI FILE. i have tried using divX compression, and even uncompressed RGB, but regardless, the output AVI file wont play in any Application. Why is this, i really need this feature to work, because Vdub doesnt have an AVI crop feature, and TMPGEnc does! i am running

What do you mean by no cropping? If you're talking about being able to crop the edges of the video to get rid of black space/distortion it does. All you have to do is select the 0 tranform filter or any filter for that matter and select Cropping and it will take you to a window where you can do that. Is this what you're trying to do?

TMPGEnc, as its name implies encode other file format to MPG format, capable of being burnt into a compliant vcd/svcd. To deal with avi files, VDub is probably one of the more popular softwares available. You can also do avi crop with VDub; see http://nickyguides.digital-digest.com/index.htm for guides on how to do cropping with Vdub.
