Title says it all. The process: Raw DV from camcorder ,edited in Adobe Premiere, the timeline is exported via Debugmode frameserver to CCE Mpeg encoder, MPEG-the files are then Authored using TMPGENC DVD Author to Princo R-DVD media. All seems fine. Generally, the discs play back well on the computers. However, when the finalised DVDs are played back on stand alone DVD players, I get jerkiness, sometimes the picture freezes, the sound continues. Fustrating. Another related problem. When I authored in chapter points, the standalone DVD players had real problems (XMS 750 and Playstation 2) . Has anyone else had similar problems?
Thanks

In this order: Try a slower burn rate, make sure your burning software is upgraded, update the firmware on your burner, get some different discs.
Most likely it's the discs. Computer drives are more robust than standalones, which is why it will play well on the computer. Look to the left under DVD Media for ratings on discs. Most of the princo's that came up in the search don't have a very good rating for DVD players. -
Nope ..
I own the same equipment , but I edit dv another way ... check out my guides in the guides section .

Some users have found my way , a little more "user input required" as its not a one click sollution , but users have been reporting success using my methods , and there has been no reports of futher problems .
As for playstation , in my tests , some video's will cause problems for the unit , such as pitch black .
Any title that has large flashes of light to dark , will trigger the automatic droping of the top and bottom black bars .
It's also well known that playstation 2 units are not very good at removing internal heat , and it is sugested to mount and install a pc fan in such manner as too exhaust heat build up from the unit , preferably mounted somewhere at the right rear , near the power supply inside .
This should help with the skips and lockups , it's a simple "it's too hot" , a common problem when unit has been on for around 3 hours or so . -
Yes, a backed up DVD shrink does have the same problem. Trialling DVD +R disks tonight. Thanks for your replies. Fingers crossed.
