  1. Can someone tell me how I can increase the sound of my video in VirtualDubMod?

    I've looked at the help file and it says I can increase the volume.
    But... I've looked through all the menus and can't find where I can access this control.
    The help file doesn't actually say where it is.

    Maybe I'm being dumb... ut I just couldn't find it!

    Thanks.

  2. Select Streams -> Stream List. Right click on the audio stream to bring up a menu of options, select Full Processing Mode. Right click again, select Volume. Adjust slider. Since you are now uncompressing the audio and adjusting the volume you'll want to select a codec to recompress the audio. Right click again, select Compression...

  4. What audio codec is the source? I suspect you need an AC3 decoder:

    https://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=AC3_ACM_Decompressor

    If you install the AC3 filter go to

    Start -> All Programs -> AC3Filter -> AC3Filter Config

    and move the master gains all the way up.

  5. thanks for the reply.
    i'll try that one out.

    can u also advise me on codecs in general?
    i've read a lot about codecs coming packed with spyware.
    (i assume the audio codec u gave is ok!?)

  6. There are about a million audio and video codecs. There is no spyware in the AC3 codec I linked you to. Avoid codec packs -- collections of codecs that various people have put together in an attempt to give you a bunch of codecs with one install. Codec packs often lead to conflicts between the different codecs and some do come with spyware. Download and install individual codecs as you need them. You can use programs like AVICodec or GSpot to determine what codecs an AVI file needs.
