  1. Well I use TMPGenc Xpress to convert and edit my videos, I love this program. But I'd like to know if there is a similar program that will give me more editing choices. I just want to find a similar program with more editing options!

  2. Thanks Baldrick, but I just realized that I wasn't very specific. I'm wanting a program that I can use to clean up the video and audio of svcd's when I encide them to dvd. TMPGenc works great for cleaning up and ajdusting the video, but not the audio. Also I'd like a program with more filters so I can fine tune the picture quality. Thank you very much again for your reply Though!!!!!!!

    Hi leeer73,

Have a look through the "Tools" section - thre's loads of categories in there. You don't say what your source is, but VirtualDub is good for AVIs and may have the filters you want / need.

As for the audio, there's an audio section in the "Tools". One good (and free) one is Audacity, though there are others.

  4. Daamon, Thanks for the info! I download alot of movies. I usually download svcd's, but I'd much prefer to download AVI's. The only problem I have with AVI's is that when I encode to dvd, I loose alot of picture quality. I use Cucusoft for that. If I were to use Virtualdub to encode my avi's to dvd's, will it be better as far as keeping the quality of the picture? Thanks for your help!

VirtualDub doesn't encode to DVD - it can use filters on the source AVI to produce a filtered AVI.

If you're worried about quality, and they're available, buy the original movies.

You can use VirtualDub to clean the video up -- then frameserv to TMPGenc to convert it to MPEG2 for DVD. Good luck!
