Hi
My dad has more than few celluloid movies from our
young years.
I want to dump it onto my comp
Have you guys tried any equipment at all that does that ?
I have used photo film negatif scanners but I am not sure something
like that exists for celluloid films
Thanks a bunch

The cheapest solution is completely analog, and it is really just a step above projecting your celluoid movies and filming the screen with a camcorder... it is the technology that TV stations used in the stone age to transfer celluloid movies for broadcast.
Essentially this is a box that displays the projected movie in a light-enclosed way that helps control/frame the shot for a video camera. In your case, this would be a digital firewire camcorder. You could then import the footage into your PC or MAC.
Does anyone remember what these devices were called? I recall they ranged from a few bucks to pro quality. -

I think I know what ur talking about.
