  1. I've got several a few rips that I've taken that have been converted in Divx files. I'm now trying to convert them over to DVD for my brother, who doesn't have a Dixv DVD player.

I've demuxed all the audio to invididual AC3 files, but the volume is pretty low on 2 of the 6 episodes. The audio in the other 4 sounds just fine.

What I'd like to do is bump up the volume on those 2 episodes so it's essentially the same as the 4 with good audio.

I've searched the forums and guides, but didn't really find any definitive answer. I see that GW has a feature to match the volume of 2 files.

How exactly is the best way to go about this?

I was going to save the new audio from GW as WAV files, and then use ffmpeggui to convert back to AC3. Will I lose the new volume levels by doing this?

GoldWave may not be the best program for this. This and this may give you some information. You can extract your ac3 and then attenuate its volume by decibels of your choice with the help of ac3machine; this is the guide for that.

    Thanks.

  3. Thanks for the links to the software and guides.

I understand most of the options in the AC3machine, but is there anyway I can how much gain I need to make the volume on all 6 episodes nearly the same?

I know I can just raise by trial and error, but I'd like a way to verify the results other than my listening ear.
