In DVD Shrink, Disk too big

Hi,

I put in a disk into DVD Shrink, and after compression and such, it is still too big. Is there a way to change this, or another program that will eliminate this.
Thoughts and ideas are appreciated.

Run the Shrink file through Shrink again or if you don't want to lose quality, split it to two discs. Generally if you have to Shrink it below 60% you will lose a fair amount of quality.

You can also dump everything on the disc except the main movie and if you really want the extras, burn them on a separate disc. With a few movies, even the main movie is very long, up to three hours. It comes down to what you want and how much quality you want it to be.

The search feature would be my suggestion

• Run through DVDShrink again
• Try a different transcoding software (DVD2One, CloneDVD, DVDXCopy)
• Remove some unwanted extras using VOBBlanker or TitlesetBlanker before transcoding
• Set some unwanted extras to still pictures in DVDShrink
• Buy a DL burner and do a 1:1 copy
• Demux the VOBs, transcode using Rejig and the rebuild the disc
• Re-encode using DVD-RB

That's all I can think of for now, but I'm sure I've probably missed some obvious alternatives ...

You can also split the disc into 2 DVD-5s.

That is not an alternative... it's supposed to be bought already... making backups of DVDs that you haven't bought is illegal ... so what he wants is to make a backup of a DVD to take on vacation... that way he won't scratch the original on the sand

Dude, I think you missed the whole point - he meant buy two copies of the DVD. That way you have one store-bought copy gathering dust on the shelf as your backup.

Dude, I think you missed the whole point - he meant buy two copies of the DVD. That way you have one store-bought copy gathering dust on the shelf as your backup.

In that case he should have said:
"Buy a second copy of the DVD"

I have had this problem and solved by reducing the target size of the disk to about 4.2gig and reshrunk the original files. You can set the output disk size to what you want. Nyah Levi
