Anybody have an earlier version of the firmware for this player. The version that still shows the blue bird on the screen, not the orange screen.
I recently upgraded my firmware to bank30.rom and it's royally buggered my player up. Can barely watch anything. I'm hoping flashing back to a earlier version will set it right again.
Thanks.

NOTE/FYI to Everyone: ALL of the RJ-Tech RJ-1500DVXII firmware updates have been titled "bank30.rom". Only the dates and release notes have changed.
You can download the two older versions I have from my site which I have compress to RAR files:
http://www.cahabahometheater.com/resources.html
I have three listed as follows:
Last - the release on their site now. (Entitled "bank30_new.rar")
Previous 1 - the first 'yellow' screen version (Entitled "bank30.rar")
Previous 2 - the first firmware release (Entitled "bank30_old.rar")
Remember to rename the file you are going to use to bank30.
The Previous 2 should be a 'blue screen' version. I installed it fairly long ago and luckily still had the disk a burned then.
Good luck. -
Thanks mate. I'll bag 'em and let ya know how it goes!!!!
O.K. it's about 30 min later. The 1st version of the orange screen upgrade didn't work, just kept giving me the same problem with skipping video.
So I flashed it back to the original with the Blue Bird background. So far so good. Everything is playing perfectly. Oh well so what, I can't play Nero MP4. I never needed to in the 1st palce.
Thanks for the link. I'm a happy boy again that my 150 dollar DVD player is no longer a paper weight. -
Glad I could help and thank you for letting me know how it went. I especially appreciate the feedback on the oldest 'blue screen' version because I personally only used it once when it was first released and it is good to know I can use it again if I need to. (NOTE: I do not know for sure what the firmware was suppose to do or even if it was different from the one that came with my player when I purchased it (they could have been the same). I haven't found a way to check firmware versions on the unit and the fact that the revisions have the same name hasn't helped matters.
I wish, and I'm sure you do too, I knew what is causing the video skipping and how exactly is relates to the firmware.
P.S. Almost forgot, the firmware posted on their site now shows the same 'change log' as the last one, just different date on the page. Maybe they didn't remember to update the entire page or there were a minimum of changes. Anyway, I haven't installed the latest one myself yet. -
Yah the one on their site that says updated may 25 is the one that messed everything up for me.
maybe I just wait a couple version, or atlest see what everyone else has to say first be fore I just run off half cocked and upgrade anymore firmwares.
PS: This is the first device that has ever given me firmware upgrade issues. -
Wesley,
I flashed my 1500 with your old file and now it refuses any attempt to re-flash. I tried your other two files and the file from RJ-Tech's website and I always get an erase failure. I would guess your "old" file contains a non-flashable routine which kills the ability to flash upgrade. -
wulf109, that shouldn't be the case but only RJ-Tech would know for sure. Also, please keep in mind that the files were all downloaded from RJ-Tech directly and are not 'mine'.
