  1. hey,
    i have a vob file which i wanna convert to an mpg to edit...i don't have the.ifo files with me..is there any way wherein i can directly edit the vob file or convert it to mpg without these files...i copied the file to my hd without knowing about ripping...now the original dvd has conked off....i have no other way...please help...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated....pls....

    if it doesn't contain multiple audio tracks and such you can just try rename it to mpg and edit with mpeg-vcr,videoredo.

    if it wont work demultiplex it to video and audio streams with tmpgenc file->mpeg tools.

    thanks for the suggestion. but tmpgenc isn't importing any vob format....so did u ask me to demultiplex after i convert it to mpg...btw, wat does "demultiplex" mean? wat does it do....newbie...pls help...it doesn't contain multiple audio tracks....so i'll also try the other option that u told me...
