I had some AVI movies that I converted to mpeg 2 using TMPGenc. I used DVD Lab Pro to compile my DVD. When it was done compiling, the video_ts folder was full of vob files, but had no ifo files. The video_ts folder plays perfectly on my computer with WinDVD, but when I burn it and try to play it on my DVD player, the movie goes for 3 seconds, freezes, goes for another 3 seconds, and freezes again. This goes on and on. Could this be because I'm missing the ifo and bup files (do I need them?)? Also, I'm using ac3 audio, if that matters. How can I get these IFO files? Can I use IFO edit? Will it let me keep my menus and chapters and subtitles that I created in DVD lab? Thanks in advance. Any help would be appreciated.

    yes, you need them.

have you tried author again with dvd-lab? or have you deleted the project?

you can use ifoedit to recreate ifos...but you lose some info then.

http://members.dodo.net.au/~jimmalenko/test.htm#ifoedit can recreate your IFOs for you - but no menus. Chapters and subtitles will be fine.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Welp, I tried using DVD Lab again. The IFO's were there and everything looked fine. But when I played it on my DVD player, the same thing happened. I tried creating the dvd with TMPGEnc DVD Author, and I got an error message saying my combined bitrate was too high.
Current bitrate is video: 9800, audio: 224, combined: 10024
The combined video and audio can be no more than 9.848 Mbps (9848 kbps).

Gah. Could this be why my movie is freezing like that? My bitrate is too high? Should I re-encode it? Thanks for your help.
