Does anybody know how to do this? for example, I have a chess board on the compuer, and the chess board displays the moving step each 3 seconds. Is there any easy way to convert the graphics chess board display into VCD format?

  2. Why would you want to do that?
Lotus screencam / MS Screen cam as well. both will work for saving it as an AVI file. Later you would encode it into an MPG file and save it to a "VCD"
Or you can use a Video card with video/TV out put built in and save it to your VCR then use a vid Capture card to encode it to an MPG on the fly.

    Why ???

Snagit is a good program for turning whatever happens on your screen into an AVI movie. You then just need to convert it to VCD using the TMPGEnc encoder.

    Snagit is here:

Thank you guys for the help. That's exact what I need.
BTW, does anybody know how to convert an avi movie (1 frame/s) to a slide show? As well known, a slide show can have higher resulution than VCD movie, and use less space compared to a 1 (frame/s) avi encoded mpg1 (become 29.97f/s).

  5. most vid capture devices come with some sort of video/image capture/editing/darkroom software, or you can use Videocapturix and keep hitting the button or set the timer for 1 sec intervals . Just make sure that you set it up for "Multiple image capture" (with progressive names, ex 001.jpg, 002.jpg)
