Hi,
So do you??
I buy at least a couple of cds a year. I bought the EPISODE 3 soundtrack on CD.
I now buy a song or two on ITUNES every now and then. If I like the group I'll probably buy the album. If its just a single I want I'll just do the digital download.

Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?
-
can you put a now and then option in?
I'm now and then depending on what is released . I've mostly listened to Galaxy1056 fm in the UK for the last 5 years now as they play music I like 8) -
I buy music all the time. In fact I just bought another cd the other day. I picked up an Authority Zero on half.com for 75 cents. You can't beat getting good music for next to nothing and the RIAA gets none of my money.

Rarely - only for my fav. bands...
Meen using AllOfMP3 for quite a while - use them for CD's in the car (and MP3 player) and trying bands recommended by others. -
Being an old fart, I haven't liked most music put out since the 1980s ... with my preference being for music recorded between 1964-1974. So, I don't generally buy music CDs anymore. I've found a lot of old stuff and a smattering of newer stuff I like via AllOfMP3.com.
There are only two CDs I may be buying in the near future. One is self-done by an artist named Faine Jade who achieved some moderate popularity in the 1960s. He's basically reissuing a CD that is no longer available and I'm not sure what the original label was (or even if it exists anymore). The other CD-set is titled "Electromagnetic Steamboat" by The Fugs:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000DJYPF/qid%3D1070158601/
It's a 3-CD release comprising 4 previously released vinyl LPs from Reprise:
1. Tenderness Junction
2. It Crawled Into My Hand, Honest!
3. The Belle of Avenue A
4. Golden Filth
While a DJ at a college radio station when I was younger, I was punished by having 2 hours of my nightly show taken away because I dared to play 3 songs by The Fugs (The Divine Toe I & II, National Teenage Haiku Contest, Group Grope) ... and one song by the Mothers of Invention (Bwana Dik). The Dean of Students chose that night to be listening in and he was not pleased ... especially since the college was owned by the Church of Christ. -
OK, who voted for
No - shhh I download via p2p
I dont but cds anymore. I think they are overpriced. I mainly listen to the radio, or stream from the net, like yahoo music. -
I dont buy cd's hardly anymore either. No point in spending 15 bucks for only one good song. Besides, the majority of my music tastes stems from the 70's and 80's era. Occasionally I may buy an Final Fantasy game soundtrack if I like the music that was presented in the game. And those disc sets are usually imported from Japan. Other than that, I dont buy CD's anymore, I have all of my music from my vinyl record and cassette collection.
VTMI have the staff of power, now it's up to me to use it to its full potential to command my life and be successful. -
I do rarely, last bought ciara's goodies cd.Gonna buy destiny's chil destiny fulfilled, ashanti and some other's cd's in the future also.
-
I think the last CD I bought was Guns N' Roses' USE YOUR ILLUSION I&II.
If there's a CD I want to listen to I can check it out at the public library. That's also how I used to get my DVD movies. I'm signed up with Blockbuster's online rental service, so I don't do that anymore. -
Yep!!!
I have over 400 store bought cd's!!!!!!!!!
I have, very rarely DLed some tunes, like i DLed one song i wanted, and ended up going to buy the whole cd.
I remember when one song from the staind album "14 shades of grey" was released on the radio before the album was released, i got it online,
the local radio station also had it for download as well as the official staind website did, and i liked it enough to go buy the cd with the extra dvd and then there were songs on the cd that i think are better than the single they released for promotional reasons :P Which was "Pay To Play" -
About 1 a month yes.
Sometimes I'll be a hunk of used ones off half.com for cheap.
I trust what I rip myself to what someone else does quality wise. -
Yes, I do only occasionally buy a CD or two.
The recent CDs are X&Y by Coldplay and Dark side of the Moon by Pink Floyd.
I buy much more on DVD than for CD.I am a computer and movie addict -
I go on cd shopping sprees once in a while. I normally buy music online, through itunes.
The cds that I buy are usually local artists, which are rarely available online. -
i will only buy cds these days of bands that blow me away as far as having lots of great songs. not that the band is the best band just that they have a bunch of good songs on one cd.... i have over 300 sotre bought cds not including the ones my 17 YO daughter stole from me or that i bought for her.. prolly over 500 total.. and i havent bought a cd in months.. i will buy but haveto have 3 or 4 min good songs or i will dl them and wait for the next cd
-
No.
They need to sell archives of some of these talk shows. I find them much more interesting than the newest dribble by the currently "hot" and soon-to-be-forgotten crap band.
I think the last time I bought a CD was because I lost the old one, which I bought in the mid 90s.
This goes mostly for mainstream music, of course. I do buy unusual and seasonal stuff a few times a year.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

Very few. Most of the bands suck nowaday, I haven't found any new album worth buying this year, seriously I know, its terrible, I think this year is going to be even worse than the last year, and obviously they (they = the studios, musicians, mpaa etc) will blame p2p for low cd sale numbers, heh.
I am currently expanding my music collection into videos on DVDs mostly. I find it more enjoyable than the music itself without a picture. But again - its mostly bands/concerts from the past, nothing of new breed haven't caught my eye (or ear) yet. -

Course me growing up in the 80's is why I enjoy alot of the music from that era and the 70's. 90's stuff didnt appeal to me much and as of now...forget it.
I just stick with my own music collection and im all good I hardly listen to the radio anymore because of loudmouth DJ's that run their mouth too much and edited songs, and I hate hearing an edited song (lengthwise). If ya cant hear the whole song then there's no point in playing it.

Oh, I enjoy 80s music too, since the 80s!, just not '86 top 100 apparently.

I still buy CDs. Mostly older stuff that I never knew about (like Galactic Cowboys, Marc Cohn, Atomic Opera, etc). But I like some new stuff; Bowling for Soup catches my ear for some weird reason...

That's my story, anyway, and I'm sticking to itIf in doubt, Google it. -
Bought PFloyd's SACD.
I wonder how many people buy both mp3's AND sacd's... poll?
Last CD was DJ Dave Seaman's Therapy Session vol.2
Next is the entire Jazz At The Philharmonic set to replace my cd transfer of the vinyl set. Bought my 1st JATP in 1955, a 10" vinyl.
From Flip Phillips to Tiesto and beyond -
I still purchase CD's now and again, but never at list price which is outrageous IMHO. Haven't heard any compressed format that doesn't sound like crap on my audiophile HiFi system, so I don't bother with them unless it's a disposable thing to hear only on my computer. Another favorite source of (borrowed) CD's is the public library; it's a great way of getting a huge exposure to classical and jazz (somewhat) without spending any money.
Usually long gone and forgotten
