I have two AVI files.
One is just a 2 second clip with no audio. The other is an episode of an anime which I hardcoded subs on.
Both files work correctly, have the same fps, and have the same codec. My problem is VirtualDub won't let me join them. The error it gives me when I try is "Can't append segment - The segment has a different number of streams.".
Now, I assume this is because the episode has subs and audio and the clip does not. How can I add these files together? I cannot add them before I hardcode the subs because that would mean I would have to move all the times on the subtitles.
Is there a way to join these two files???
Any help would be much appreciated.

If the subs are hardcoded they would not represent a seperate stream.
Suggest create silent wav for audio on first clip. Recreate AVI with audio, then join. -
just about to sugest the same thing
virtualdubmod or avi mux gui can do thatI love it when a plan comes together! -
Yes, unfortunetely I posted too hasty lol. I managed to figure it out by myself but thanks for the tips.
I'm just going to write what I did just in case this thread can help anyone else.
I opened Cool Edit Pro (Audio application) and created 5 seconds of silence (the clip was 5 sec long). I then added that to the clip in the streams window and encoded. I then added the clip to the episode with VirtualDub.
The episode had 1 stream so I guess it was the audio so I added audio to the clip (silence) which made each file have 1 stream.
Which fixed my problem.
Thanks guys!
