  1. Everytime I yell on the mic it always created this a big noise/distortion which make the sound terrible.

    I'm using Audacity and Adobe Audition 1.5
    I do not have much understanding about mixer so here is a brief info base on what I set and see.

    Gain = 1/2
    Hight = 3/4
    MID = 0
    LOW = 3/4
    EFF = 1/2
    PAN = 1/2
    VOL = 1/4

    I'm using Thunder KST880 PMX-4D Mixer with EV-Co11 mic...

    I've also setting the mixer on the computer table and also recording infront of the computer. Is there any draw back on this?

    So can anyone here help give me some hints/suggestion on a vocal recording... and how to overall improve my music in the future?

    Thank a bunch

    I'm no expert but went though a similar experience with my cam recently. It's clipping, the record level is above the volume it can record. If you have the dB levels on your mixer you can't let them go in the red....

    Here's my story in a nutshell. While recording a band whenever it would get very loud particularly a very hard hit on the snare drum it would clip. To compensate for this my cam has manual adjustment for the level it records which should be the same on your mixer. The next issue was I had to lower the levels so much to compensate for the snare drum that the regular areas were too low and it also introduced quite a bit of noise. So......... way back on page 67894 of the manual I come across "when recording very loud sounds like drums....." turn on the microphone attenutator. I've just found this setting but so far so good. Apparently it prevents the over amplification allowing me to record at a higher volume without the ditortion.

    That's about what you need to do, either that or stop screaming in your microphone.
