  1. Hi,

    I use Subtitle Workshop v2.51 to work with my subtitles. Whenever I open the subtitle file in this program, I can see the formatting (italics, bold, etc...) but when I add the same subtitle file into DVD-lab Pro 1.00 Build 041014 as part of a project, the formatting completely DISAPPEARS.

    DVD-lab Pro says it accepts *.sub;*.srt;*.ssa;*.son;*.sst files, but I have saved to each of these subtitle types in Subtitle Workshop, and when I import them into DVD-lab Pro, the formatting still DISAPPEARS.

    Could anyone please explain why this might be happening, and what I can do to fix it?

    Thanks,

  2. Hi Baldrick,

    Hope you are keeping well.

    Thanks for the link. I guess I will have to deal with the lack of formatting, unless the new version of DVD-lab Pro supports it...? I shall investigate...

    Cheers,

    Got the same problem here.
    So far I realized that getting the subtitles with Subrip in .bmp-format solves the problem of loss of formatting, but I have a badly encoded DVD here, the subs are overlapping in a lot of places when I rip them into .bmp, DVD-lab Pro however does not complain about any overlap in .srt/.son/.ssa etc. variants.

    Is there any other authoring application that might retain the formatting on import?

    Thanks.

  4. This here LINK says that DVD Architect 3 can

    Create and edit frame-accurate subtitles within the DVD Architect 3 interface by exporting text regions using Vegas 6, and importing them into the DVD Architect interface. Subtitles display on-screen during movies, slideshows, and music compilations. Text files can be translated for use as alternate language subtitles in a project to create DVDs containing multiple languages. Subtitles can also be imported from a text file or third-party subtitling application. DVD Architect 3 supports up to 32 subtitle tracks for each title (16 tracks for widescreen}
    maybe it could retain the formatting...?

    Let's hope for the best. I will go and try it.

    EDIT: well, I tried and it doesn't!
    I am almost at my wits end, I have tried practically every authoring app out there, none seems to be able to import and retain formatting!

    Does anybody know about any solution? END EDIT
